Flooding remains a threat in the Keswick area after the weekend's heavy rain, warns the Environment Agency.
The Environment Agency decided this afternoon to keep in place a flood alert for the Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwentwater - all in the Keswick area.
"The level of Derwentwater remains high at the Lodore lake gauge as a result of the weekends rainfall," an Environment Agency spokesman said in a statement released on their flood warning information service website just after noon today.
"Today with very little rain forecast we expect the level to continue to fall and it will potentially drop below Flood Alert level by tomorrow."
"The risk is decreasing but we continue to monitor the situation.
"Please avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, or as the situation changes."
