AFTER launching her designer shoe shop just four months ago, a Cumbrian business woman is putting her best foot forward and expanding her offer to customers.

When Jane Bowman opened Oh Pair, in Brampton in April, it was her first venture into running her own business. At the time, she chose to concentrate on one good brand, by fashionable German designer Marco Tozzi.

Her success in such a short time has meant that she is now able to step up her range, by including new designer names, Van Dal, and Joe Browns for men.

Jane has quickly built up a loyal customer base.

“I’m surprised and delighted at how well things have been going since I opened Oh Pair,” said Jane. “I’ve had customers both locally and from further afield coming in to buy, and some returning to make further purchases.

“Although I started with just ladies’ shoes, I had lots of people asking if I could stock men’s shoes as well, so I have increased the selection, for men and women, with these two new, top-quality, designer brands.

“Now, due to customer demand, I will also be including a range of Rieker shoes in my Autumn/Winter collection.”

Jane has already had a foot in the retail world, as she previously worked alongside her father, Doug Bowman, at Lowther Used Furniture, nearby to her new Front Street premises.

As the business grows, Jane’s future plans include employing another member of staff to help out in the shop.

Oh Pair also stocks a selection of handbags and purses; school shoes in sizes 10 to 2; and a teenage range of slip-on loafers from size 4.

Open from Monday to Friday, 9am – 3pm; and Saturday 9am until 1pm
