Hundreds of people are expected to turn out for a day of family fun at Cleator Moor on Saturday.

Phoenix Youth Project is running its 15th annual fun day.

An action-packed line-up of fun fair rides, inflatable activities, stalls, face painting, games and food will provided on the town's main square and Civic Centre.

Young people who attend Phoenix Youth Project will be helping to run and organise the event.

Paul Rowe, project leader for Phoenix Youth Project said: "The aim of this day is to provide a fun day for the entire community of all ages to socially mix and is a great opportunity to break down those intergenerational barriers that exist between the younger and elderly members from the community."

The event has been supported by Cleator Moor Town Council (£2,000) Cleator Moor CIC (£500) and Cleator Moor Masonic (£200).

Mr Rowe added: "The cost is heavily subsided by this year’s funders. Without their generous financial support, the event would not be happening."

The fun day will take place between 1pm and 5pm.

Phoenix Youth Project runs three youth centres in Cleator Moor, Frizington and Moor Row.
