A WARNING has been sounded by police about a wanted man who could be in Cumbria.

Matthew Parkinson, 26, is wanted by Lancashire Police on recall to prison and in connection with a sexual assault investigation.

Police have described Matthew as being a risk to the public, and say be could be violent if approached.

He has links to Cumbria, Bamber Bridge and Preston.

Parkinson is believed to have breached his release licence terms in May after breaking a curfew. He had been convicted of battery, theft and assault in November 2018.

He is also wanted by police in connection with an investigation into an alleged sexual assault in Bamber Bridge, Lancashire in June.

He is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, of medium build with blue eyes and short brown hair.

Detectives are urging people not to approach him but instead contact police immediately if they know where he is.

Det Con Catherine Thomas, of Lancashire Police, said: “Parkinson presents a risk to the public and could be violent if approached.

“We would urge anyone who knows where he is to come forward and contact police.

“Furthermore I would ask Parkinson, if he sees this appeal, to speak to us immediately.”
