A MAN has been given a restraining order, a community order and has been told to pay £215 after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman.
Thomas Peter Horan, 32, pleaded guilty to assault by beating at Carlisle's magistrates' court on July 1.
The attack took place in Tebay and saw Horan, of no fixed address, attack Lisa Greaney.
Horan was given a community order requiring him to take part in a rehabilitation activity programme and was given a restraining order banning him from contacting his victim for 12 months, except for through an agreed third party or as approved by Children's Services or the family court in respect of contact with the children.
He was also ordered to pay a fine of £40, told to pay a surcharge of £90 to fund victim services and to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
