A man has admitted being threatening and abusive at a work party.
Liam McCormick, 29, of Overend Road, Whitehaven, pleaded guilty to using threatening and abusive words or behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke unlawful violence.
West Cumbria Magistrates' Court heard that McCormick, who works at Sellafield, was at a Christmas party at the Seacote Hotel in St Bees on December 7 when the offence took place.
McCormick had been assaulted from behind by a male and the pair were ejected from the premises.
The court heard McCormick was annoyed at the situation and was shouting, swearing and behaving aggressively.
McCormick was given a community order and a five-week curfew, to run from 7pm to 5am.
He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and an £85 surcharge to fund victim services.
