HOW THEY MET: Through mutual friends about 10 years ago and have been in a relationship for five years.

PROPOSAL: David proposed while they were on holiday in the Dominican Republic in 2017.

STAG & HEN CELEBRATIONS: The stag weekend was spent in Hamburg with 20 friends and the hens attended the Grand National Ladies’ Day.

VENUE: Langholm Parish Church.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A soft A-line skirt dress with embroidered high neck bodice by Morilee, worn with a Morilee veil - both from LA Bridal in Galashiels - and a Matthew Williamson tiara.

HAIR & BEAUTY: Hair and make-up for the bridal party was done by Rhea and Tracey from HMC2, Langholm.

BEST MAN: Tom Thompson, groom’s brother, was best man and ushers were Murdo Laurie and Charles Ackerley, groom’s friends, and Calum Bell, bride’s brother. They wore navy suits with tweed waistcoats from Carol Roberts.

BRIDESMAIDS: Darcy Irving and Alex Knox, both bride’s best friends, were bridesmaids. Ava Bell, bride’s cousin, and Jessica Bowker, family friend, were flower girls.

FLOWERS: All flowers were supplied by Roseberry Floral Design Dalston.

TRANSPORT: An ivory Beauford from Cumbria Classic Cars.

RECEPTION: An afternoon reception for 81 day guests at Stapleton Village Hall, with a marquee supplied by Cumbria Marquees, followed by an evening reception for 250 guests.

TABLE SETTINGS: The centrepieces were made by the bride and Sally from Roseberry. Place names were handmade by the bride and chair covers and tablecloths were supplied by Roses & Hearts Events.

FAVOURS: Home-made liqueurs made by the groom’s mum and a selection of favourite sweets/chocolates.

CATERING: Spice Catering, Brampton.

CAKE: A three-tiered cake made by Meg’s Home Bakes in Langholm.

FIRST DANCE: You and I You and I by Tom Walker.

ENTERTAINMENT: Three Card Trick, live music, ceilidh and disco.

HONEYMOON: Mexico.

OTHER DETAILS: Place names were made from shotgun cartridges and tables were named after shooting game (pheasant, duck, rabbit etc) as the groom is a keen shooter. A brass bullet shell was also part of the groomsmen’s buttonholes and pheasant feathers were included in the flowers. The bride and groom’s dog, Willow, was in attendance at the reception for a while.

FAMILY DETAILS: The bride is the daughter of Craig and Alex Bell, and the groom’s parents are Brian and Elizabeth Thompson.
