A new luxury holiday park is set to open in the Lake District next week.

Ullswater Heights will open on July 1, near Newbiggin, Penrith.

The holiday park has 150 pitches, including lodges for ownership built to the highest specification and a range of brand-new holiday lodges for rental in partnership with Hoseasons.

It is the latest park to be opened by Leisure Resorts, a five-star holiday resort operator founded just over two years ago by Gary Molloy, the founder and former owner of Park Leisure.

Leisure Resorts operates four sites in Cumbria and Yorkshire.

Nearly £20m was invested in the new park. While the construction created approximately 40 jobs the park will support an estimated 65 full and part-time jobs when open.

The 70 acre park surrounds an eight-acre lake and features gardens and the UK's first centrally heated glamping tents with jacuzzis.

An on-site restaurant will also open with a menu featuring local produce.

Guests at the park will also have access to a concierge service.

Gary said: “Leisure Resorts has been operating for just over two years and Ullswater Heights represents the pinnacle of our achievements to-date.

"We’re taking our offering to a new level, aiming to open as the best holiday park in the UK and never stop improving what we offer. We’re delighted to partner with Hoseasons who have over 75 years’ experience offering brilliant holiday lodge getaways.

"Uptake of holiday homes for ownership has also been a great success so far - this will be a tranquil and beautiful escape for owners and holidaymakers alike.”

Scott Drew, property and portfolio director at Hoseasons, said: “It’s great to see Leisure Resorts flourishing amidst the strong demand for domestic short breaks in the UK with their latest addition of Ullswater Heights.

"The quality of the new accommodation on offer in this idyllic countryside setting is among the best in our UK portfolio, and we’ll be doing all we can to raise awareness of it to national audiences through our extensive marketing activity and large customer database.”

The park will feature one of the most expensive holiday lodges ever manufactured in the UK, created by British luxury home provider Aspire Park & Leisure Homes. Dubbed The Blencathra, the lodge is one of the first in the UK to have a jacuzzi on the roof. It offers 1430 square feet of space with three bedrooms, four bathrooms and open plan living room and comes with a guide price of £795,000.
