A woman has admitted dishonestly claiming benefits.
Claire Wilson, 50, of Gill Head, Flimby, pleaded guilty to two charges of dishonestly claiming universal credit, when she appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates' Court in Workington, on Friday.
The court heard Wilson had failed to notify the Department of Work and Pensions that she had exceeded the capital limit while claiming Universal Credit.
She also failed to declare that she was living with her husband, Steven Galletly.
Wilson was handed a community order and a six-month curfew, to run from 7pm and 7am.
She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and an £85 surcharge to fund victim services.
