A 28-year-old Carlisle man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after police were called to a street in Morton, Carlisle.
Officers are now appealing for information about what happened in Highfield Avenue at around 12.30am on Saturday June 22.
It involved at least three men.
A fourth man may have been involved and officers are keen to speak with this person to help with their inquiries, said a spokesman for the force.
A The man who was arrested has now been released under investigation.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: "Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting log number 14 of the 22nd June 2019."
