A WAR memorial will be rededicated and unveiled in Carlisle.
The memorial at Our Lady & St Joseph, on Warwick Road, has been restored and will be unveiled just after Sunday mass at 10.45am.
It was originally dedicated in 1921 to commemorate the lives of local World War One servicemen who died.
Tony Parrini, secretary of Carlisle & Stanwix branch of the Royal British Legion, said: “We know there are a number of families in Carlisle that have grandparents whose names are on that memorial.
“They, in particular, are more than welcome to come to the event and tell us who they are.”
The ceremony will also be attended by the Mayor of Carlisle and members of the parish. Members of the public are encouraged to attend both the mass and unveiling.
