Allerdale Council is calling on residents to get involved with community clean-ups ahead of Cumbria in Bloom next month.
The local authority is urging residents to join in with community clean-ups in Seaton, Maryport and Aspatria ahead of visits from Cumbria in Bloom judges, which will take place from July 3 to July 9.
The council will be providing volunteers with all the necessary equipment needed for the clean-ups, and will take away all the rubbish collected.
They will be supported in their efforts by local parish councils and bloom groups.
Each clean-up will begin at 10am. The first will be taking place in Maryport on Tuesday. Volunteers should gather at Her Citi.
The Seaton clean-up will take place on Thursday. Volunteers should meet outside the main shops.
The Aspatria clean-up be be taking place on July 5. Volunteers should meet at the Local Links building.
Local parish councils will be providing free refreshments at each of the events.
Mark Jenkinson, Allerdale deputy leader and portfolio holder for economic growth, said that the hard work of “volunteers in our community means our towns and villages look wonderful all year around.
“But the competition is a wonderful way of gaining countywide recognition for our communities.
“It’s great that Allerdale council can help support these community clean-ups.”
