DOZENS of classic cars are set to pass through Carlisle later this summer as part of a two-day tour.

Each of the Triumph cars, who form a team known as the Border Raiders, will set off from Banoldswick, located on the border with Lancashire and North Yorkshire, before heading across Cumbria.

The convoy of vehicles will stop off in Carlisle for the night, then will continue the following day, going over the Border, before later heading east.

Venturing back into Northumberland, the cars will head back over the North York moors, finishing in York.

The event, which will take place for the sixth year and is popular with vintage car enthusiasts, will be held on August 3 and 4.

Further details on the route will be revealed closer to the event.
