Fire crews from Carlisle East, Brampton, and Lazonby were yesterday to tackle a property at Newbiggin, west of Penrith.
The crews were alerted just before 2.30pam.
The response included three fire - from Brampton, Carlisle East and Lazonby fire stations.
When they arrived, the crews found the property was well alight.
They used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels, one jet and small tools to extinguish the fire.
The crews were on scene for approximately three and a half hours.
After bringing the fire under control, the firefighters checked for "hot spots" with the thermal imaging camera to make sure the fire is out and there are no hidden embers.
