A NEW music festival is landing in Whitehaven this weekend, with big names ready to entertain crowds for hours.

Whitehaven RL's Recreation Ground will host Electric Soup’s festival, Soup in the Sticks 2019, on Saturday, June 22.

Organisers are promising guests an "amazing site and fantastic atmosphere" with endless music, laughter, and plenty of food and drink.

The festival is aiming to make a name for itself in its debut year as the biggest and best event for miles, and the people behind it want to see people from across West Cumbria singing, dancing and smiling for the entire day.

Making an appearance, and hoping to get the crowd moving all day long, is music producer, DJ and BBC Radio 1 presenter Danny Howard.

He will feature alongside Secondcity, the international chart-topping DJ and music producer, whose song I Wanna Feel topped the UK Singles Chart.

These two major acts are headlining the festival, with other performers including Ben Hemsley, Adam Teasdale, Carl Tait, Cam Smith, and plenty more.

There will be bands and musicians on stage for the entire day from the moment doors open at noon until they close at 10pm, making sure the crowd stays on their feet with their voices proudly shouting along to the music far into the night.

First release tickets have sold out but a second wave has been made available so there's no need to miss out.

There are also a number of VIP tickets on offer, giving guests stage access with the artists, as well as free food and drink throughout the day.

Oliver Hodgson, spokesman for the event, can barely contain his excitement for the event.

He said: “Soup In The Sticks is Cumbria’s newest festival, and is set to be fantastic.

"The whole team are doing an amazing job. Be sure to get your tickets – this is not a day to be missed out on!”

Bus companies are even wanting to be a part of the action, and will be on hand during the day to offer their services to those travelling from near or far, with £5 return bus tickets available to anyone needing a lift from towns throughout Cumbria, and even on the outskirts of the county.

Second release tickets are £30, with VIP tickets available for £100. To book visit www.tickettannoy.com or go through the Soup in the Sticks 2019 event page on Facebook.
