A woman has been banned from getting behind the wheel for a year after admitting drink driving.
Sally Cowling, 30, of Wether Riggs Road, Salterbeck, appeared before magistrates in Workington today charged with driving a car while over the drink drive limit.
She pleaded guilty to the offence.
Diane Jackson, prosecuting, told the court that Cowling was approached by police at about 3.15am on May 25 after they saw her grey Audi A3 stopped on Cleator Moor Road near Copeland Pool and thought she might need help.
A breath test carried out at the police station found she had 42 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Magistrates banned her from driving for 12 months and ordered her to pay a fine of £276, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
