THE annual Silloth Vintage Rally takes place this weekend, with plenty on offer to keep the whole family entertained.

The event takes place on Silloth Green tomorrow and Sunday, starting at 10am and finishing about 4pm on both days.

Silloth Vintage Rally is a free event attracting crowds from all over north Cumbria.

Wendy Jameson, organiser of the event, said: “We’re worrying about the weather, because it’s weather dependant, but even when it rains we still have a good turn out and people still camp as well, so I’m looking forward to it.”

Planned into this year’s event are hundreds of exhibits, including classic cars and motorbikes, vintage tractors and steam engines as well as commercial and military vehicles.

Over the course of the weekend many acts will be on hand to keep the crowds entertained, including Adrian Smith with The Mighty Smith Show; Ichabod Steam and his steampunk submarine; Greg Chapman, who will perform juggling shows mixed with comedy and escapology; Cockermouth Ukuleles; and Border Concert Band.

Spectators can also enjoy stalls, auto jumbles, the fairground and donkey rides and a children’s football tournament on the Saturday.
