Police are investigating verbal "abuse of a sexual nature" after an incident in Appleby.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police has confirmed that officers are investigating the incident as, which took place at about 10am yesterday, as a public order offence.
"A group of men were reported to have shouted abuse of a sexual nature at a passing woman," the spokesman explained.
Taking place on Battlebarrow, which runs between the town's grammar school and train station, police are appealing for anyone with information regarding the incident to contact police on 101, referencing log number 165 of June 5.
