A construction firm helped a primary school install a new mural.

During a week of activities, pupils at Seascale Primary School took part in painting a mural based on the theme of ‘from fell to sea’, reflecting the school’s location in West Cumbria.

The mural has been painted on a 90 metre temporary wall which separates the existing primary school from the site where the new school is being built, which is due for completion in October.

The paint and brushes were donated by Elliott, which is the main contractor building the new school, and Morgan Sindall Infrastructure prepared the temporary wall for painting and applied a base layer of paint.

The company has also previously supported the primary school by supplying high visibility vests for the pupils to promote road safety in the village.

Dave Polkey, specialist operations director for Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, said: “We are incredibly proud to be able to support local projects in West Cumbria.

“This was an exciting opportunity to use our skillset to help the pupils with their artwork and it was very rewarding to see how happy the pupils and teachers are with their mural.”

Head teacher Avril Spencer said: “We are extremely grateful that Morgan Sindall Infrastructure could support our school.

“They have helped us to brighten up our large expanse of wall while the new school is being built.

“It has made a real difference and our students have had an enjoyable and productive activity week painting their fantastic mural.”
