A TALK on the forensic psychology of serial killers is set to take place in Carlisle.

Forensics lecturer and public speaker Jennifer Rees will be exploring the troubling topic at the Shepherds Inn & Auctioneer on July 19 at 7.30pm.

Organisers say the show is selling out across the country and believe this fascination has been fuelled by an explosion of crime documentaries including Netflix's Making a Murderer and Ted Bundy: Conversations With A Killer as well as podcasts such as Serial.

The audience will learn about how serial killers are classified and more about the differences between male and female murderers.

Other areas Jennifer will discuss include killer couples - such as Fred and Rose West and the Moors Murderers Ian Brady and Myra Hindley -, why women fall in love with known serial killers and why they gain admirers and fan mail in light of their atrocious crimes.

Tickets costs £19.
