Pupils at a Carlisle area primary school are getting an unexpected chance to enjoy the current sunny spell after an oil leak closed their school.
Great Orton Primary, a few miles west of the city, will remain closed until Friday morning.
A Cumbria County Council spokesman said staff had discovered a leak within the school, with oil infiltrating the the school's water drainage system.
Because the drains were already moderately blocked, the oil was contained within the school site, said the spokesman.
Drainage experts are currently working at the school.
Not all the school's pupils will be able to enjoy the sunny weather uninterrupted, however.
Special provision has been made for Year Six pupils so that they can sit their Standard Assessment Tests (SAT) on Wednesday and Thursday morning.
