Award-winning family business Reays is holding a unique charity Halloween ball to raise funds for Blood Bikes Cumbria.

Reays, based at Wigton, hope to make £15,000 over 2019 for the charity and the ball, at the Garden at Eden, near Carlisle, will be the fund-raising finale.

The black tie ball will feature a drinks reception, three-course meal, a charity auction and raffle and entertainment from Explosive Productions.

Blood Bikes Cumbria was established by local volunteers as a medical courier service to deliver essential blood and urgent medical supplies across the county. Funding comes entirely from donations and the service is provided by volunteers.

Kerrie Allison, head of sales and marketing at Reays, said: “Reays recognises the importance of supporting the local community in which we live and work.

"Blood Bikes Cumbria is saving our hospitals thousands of pounds which can then be spent on other vital service areas.

"More importantly they’re saving lives and I am proud to be hosting our charity ball where we will hopefully raise lots of money for a fantastic cause.

"I would like to thank local businesses and professionals for their support so far in organising what is set to be an amazing event.”

The ball has been organised in association with Arriva Bus and Coach, a partner for UK bus and coach operators. Ast Signs, Ian Ward Plant Hire and Slaters hair, beauty, make up and tanning salon are associate sponsors.
