The Vamps will take to the stage at The Sands Centre tonight.

Ahead of their performance, there are some things you should know about one of the UK's most popular boy band.

1. It all started on Youtube

Brad Simpson and James McVey both started out on YouTube, each making videos singing and playing guitar to their tens of thousands of followers. Not long after they both started, they joined forces to begin working on music for the Vamps.

2. Their first original song came out almost six years ago

After the entire band eventually came together, they posted their first original song called 'WildHeart' onto their YouTube channel in July 2013.

3. This is their first time performing in Carlisle

The group have taken to the tour-bus multiple times across the UK but they have always just missed out on Carlisle. The Four Corners Tour is a chance for the boys to go to cities that they haven't been to before, northern fans can hope that this is the start of something good.

4. They have the backing of some of the biggest pop stars in the World

Back in 2014, the Vamps supported Taylor Swift on her Red tour which then led to the global superstar inviting the boys to her LA home for a home-made curry. They have also supported Selena Gomez, McFly, The Wanted, and Little Mix.

5. One genre just isn't good enough for them

They go with the trends and adapt their style so they're never trapped in one particular genre. They've collaborated with DJs, Krept & Konan, Bollywood artists, and Demi Lovato.

6. They're charitable

They recently announced a partnership with Missing People UK, a charity that aims to raise public awareness of missing people across the UK. The partnership coincides with the release of their latest EP: Missing You.

7. They have their own record label

2015 saw The Vamps set up their own record label called Steady Records. They have signed two boybands, the American band The Tide and the British New Hope Club.

8. Brad Simpson is a gin-connoisseur

The lead singer and his family own a gin-bar in Sutton Coldfield. Its a 1920's inspired bar complete with jazz music and cosy decor to enjoy the many different types of gin on offer.

9. They once survived the wrath of One Direction fans

When Zayn Malik left the One Direction scene four years ago, The Vamps boys decided to jokingly tweet a photo of Zayn at their rehearsals. This invoked the wrath of Directioners who weren't best pleased with the Tweet. Nevertheless, they managed to survive the onslaught!

10. This is the biggest UK tour they have ever done

It's not just Carlisle that is getting The Vamps treatment, the group will be performing at smaller theatres across the UK to give all their fans the chance to see them live.
