A blend of league and cup action saw youngsters display their talents in the West Cumbria Youth League.

Whitehaven Miners Social beat Maryport Amateurs 3-2 in the under-12s green cup, while Workington Reds Red won 4-0 against Seaton Athletic.

In the yellow cup, Moor Row Reds were comfortable 3-0 winners against Workington Reds Black as Workington Reds White and Whitehaven AFC Yellow finished 0-0 at full time then after extra time before Workington triumphed 4-3 on penalties.

Dearham Rangers beat Silloth Mini Gulls 3-2 in the orange cup after extra time.

Cleator Moor Celtic were 1-0 winners at Windscale in the under-13s league cup and beat Whitehaven AFC Blue 1-0 in league action to move three points clear of Seaton United at the top of the table.

The under-14s league cup saw Workington Rangers breeze past Whitehaven AFC with a 9-0 win as struggling Workington Reds Black lost 9-2 at home to third-placed Cleator Moor Celtic in the league.

A busy schedule in the under-16s league saw plenty of goals fly in, with Bransty Rangers 4-0 winners at Cockermouth Lightning, clear league leaders Maryport Athletic beating Workington Reds Black 4-1 and Whitehaven AFC under-15s running out 9-3 winners over Workington Reds under-15s.

Workington Wanderers Whites under-15s saw off Whitehaven AFC on the road 2-0 and Cleator Moor Celtic 2-1, while Cockermouth Panthers under-15s won 1-0 at Windscale under-15s and Workington Reds Black beat Seaton under-15s 9-2.

Workington Reds White got a walkover against Cleator Moor Celtic in the under-18s league, with table-toppers Moor Row under-17s granted one against Seaton.

In the games that did go ahead, Whitehaven AFC beat Maryport Amateurs 6-3 and Workington Reds Black saw off Cockermouth 6-1.
