A 20-year-old man from Carlisle has been charged with attempted murder.
Police have confirmed they were called to an incident involving two men in the DHL depot at the Pirelli factory, Dalston Road, Carlisle, just after 3am yesterday.
In an update, police say they have now charged Martin Bozhkov, 20, of Warwick Road, Carlisle, with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article.
Officers say a 43-year-old man, who is not from Cumbria, was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with serious injuries caused.
A Cumbria Police spokesman described him as being in a stable condition, adding that his injuries were not believed to be life-changing.
Bozhkov has been remanded in custody and is to appear at the city's magistrates' court on Monday.
