A Brampton man who breached his curfew has been given a stern warning by a judge.
Lee Andrew Graham, 32, of Stanley Road, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order and failing to provide a reasonable excuse for his absence, a total of nine-and-a-half hours between February 21 and 26.
Defence lawyer Sara Budniak said the breach was a result of him struggling to get home from work in time.
He was made subject to the order, a 6pm to 6am curfew, on February 2.
District Judge Gerald Chalk said: “People can go to prison by two routes. One is if they are given a community order and don’t do it. You had a previous community order which was revoked and you were put on a curfew. Now you’re breaching that. You are minutes away from going to Durham Prison.”
The curfew, due to end on May 8, has been extended to May 23 and requires Graham to be at his home address from 8pm to 7am.
