PREPARATIONS are underway for the annual Easter international market.

Market Place will return to the city centre, with more than 30 traders bringing a flavour of Europe and beyond to Carlisle with a wide range of food, crafts and gifts.

Foods will include Spanish paella, Greek gyros, Chinese and Indian street foods.

There will be also be a selection of fresh foods including olives, cheeses, breads and cakes.

Craft stalls will showcase handmade jewellery, Fairtrade furniture, gift ideas, as well as flowers and plants. There will also be a Continental Street Bar with a variety of beers and wines.

Market Place will also be hosting a free Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday for all visiting families. Honey the Easter Bunny will be joining in the fun and helping the children find hidden eggs amongst the trader’s stalls for their chance to win a free chocolate Easter egg.

Starting on Thursday, the market will run until April 22, with stalls open between 9am and 6pm Thursday to Saturday and 10am and 5pm on Sunday and bank holiday Monday.

Market Place is a UK operator of special event markets, which also specialises in market consultancy. The event is supported by Carlisle City Council.
