A STAR of BBC's The Voice's wowed the crowds when she made her way to West Cumbria.

Gosforth welcomed Liverpool-based singer/songwriter Holly Ellison to its Village Hall recently for a night of fabulousness, along with local band, Zoe Warren and The Guys.

Holly, who impressed Will.I.Am so easily with her talent that he turned his chair around in just two seconds on the reality show, made the two-hour-long journey from Liverpool to perform for the Cumbrian crowd, and was over the moon to do so.

"When I read an email from this 15-year-old Oliver Hodgson asking me to perform at his event, I knew I just had to do it", she explained.

"Cumbria's only two hours up the road from Liverpool, yet it seems like another world - I feel like I should have my passport! The people are so friendly, and it's all so beautiful"

Supporting the scouse star was local band Zoe Warren and The Guys, who played a vital part in getting the crowd on their feet, dancing and singing the glamorous night away.

The event's director, Oliver Hodgson, spoke about the brilliance of the night: "Zoe Warren blew the crowd away with her fantastic voice, and the amazing band behind her were unreal - pure local talent!"

He continued: "It was a fantastic evening, I loved every moment. I'm so grateful for the continued support, and to all my team who put hours aside to plan and create such a spectacular event - I'm looking forward to the next one."

And event guests weren't just treated to stunning entertainment, but also had drinks flowing their way, provided by Workington's Gee Gee's Bar, food courtesy of Simply Fresh in Gosforth.
