An 11-year-old boy has been banned from The Lanes shopping centre in Carlisle after abusing a member of staff.
The youngster was handed the 12-month ban after a PCSO had to give chase through the city centre just before 6pm last night.
Cumbria Police said the child had been verbally abusive towards a member of staff and made a run for it forcing the officer to chase them on foot.
Once the child had been caught, officers paid a visit to their home address.
A public order offence investigation will take place.
Cumbria Police have confirmed that the ban was imposed by the The Lanes Shopping Centre.
When contacted by the News and Star The Lanes did not wish to comment at this time.
A police spokesperson said:" You can’t run and you can’t hide we will catch up with you."
