Young dancers strutted their stuff on a west Cumbria stage in the latest edition of a popular dance festival.

The Cumbria and North Lancs Dance Festival is being held at the Theatre Royal in Washington Street, Workington, this week and started on Monday, attracting crowds of talented young people to the stage to put on stunning displays of dances across a wide variety of classic and quirky genres.

Hundreds of dancers aged from early years to teenagers are taking to the stage in categories including song and dance, ballet, modern and alt modern to perform in the spotlight, with entrants coming from dance schools around west Cumbria.

The festival is organised by Marie Money, daughter of former organiser Ann O’Hare who died in 2015.
