FIREFIGHTERS were called to a property in Carlisle where an electrical fault had caused a fire.
The crew from Carlisle East Fire Station arrived at Dalton Court, off Close Street, near London Road, at about 6.20pm.
"It was an electrical fire which was well alight when we arrived," said a spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service.
He said the fire was contained to the ground floor flat of a block of three. The 1st and 2nd storey flats were not occupied at the time of the incident.
A woman who lives in the ground floor flat evacuated. She was uninjured but shaken, said the spokesman.
The crew used two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire and ventilated the property.
