TELEVSION cameras will go behind the scenes in Carlisle’s McVitie’s factory next week.
The Caldewgate biscuit factory will be featured in a Channel 5 series called Secrets of the McVitie’s Factory.
It will be broadcast on Thursday at 9pm.
The cameras will follow 24 hours in the life on the factory floor at McVitie’s.
It says the show will “document the work of the staff making some of the nation’s favourite biscuits.
“The programme follows the whole production line process, from mixing the dough and baking the biscuits, to the engineering teams keeping the machines running, and staff offer first-hand accounts of life working in the oldest biscuit factory in the world.”
Food historian Dr Polly Russell will also reveal the history of the factory.
