THE Greatest Showman will take centre stage at this year’s Aspatria Music Festival.

Organisers of the two-day event, at Aspatria RUFC’s Bower Park in July, have released the line-up, which includes a tribute to the blockbuster movie starring Hugh Jackman.

A Million Dreams – Toby Hinson, Kerri Leigh and Rebecca White – is a fully choreographed show, billed as a ‘spectacular’ production, featuring all the hits from the film, including Come Alive, Rewrite The Stars, Tightrope, The Other Side, From Now On, Never Enough and This Is Me!

Matthew Turnbull, one of the organisers, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing A Million Dreams to Aspatria this summer.

“The film captured almost everyone’s imagination and we hope people will want to come and see the songs performed live.”

The festival, on July 20 and July 21, will also see the return of Zen, who brought the house down with their 1980s hits at the event in 2017 and the debut of Dark Side, a recently formed Pink Floyd tribute band from West Cumbria.

Matthew added: “Over the years, we’ve had lots of great feedback from people about how much they’ve enjoyed the tribute bands we booked, so we decided to get more tribute acts to popular artists in.

“We think we’ve got a broad range of acts to appeal to a huge age range. We pride ourselves on being a family friendly festival and there is something for everyone.”

Oasis tribute Mad 4 It, Almost P!nkCORR and AC/DC tribute Live Wire will also perform.

Local acts including Collision, Lee Adams and Out On Bail are also on the bill and other bands including Gage, Reggie, Freshman, Building Giants and AKA Skafell.

Matthew added: “We’re really looking forward to it. It’s going to be great weekend.”

More acts will be announced soon. Tickets are £25 for Saturday, £15 for Sunday and £35 for a full weekend ticket.
