A family have been rescued from a taxi after being stranded in floodwater in Carlisle early this morning.
Firefighters from Carlisle's east and west stations along with colleagues from Longtown attended the incident.
The crew had to use swift water rescue skills to bring the two adults and two children to safety.
They were helped from the vehicle after it became stranded in Rickerby Park.
The drama unfolded around 12.30am during the heavy rain overnight.
The family of four were walked to safety by fire crews, and no medical treatment was needed
Heavy downpours and bad weather is set to continue and more rain is forecast.
