A BODY of a man has been found near a railway line in the city.
Officers attended the scene at Eastern Way in Carlisle on Wednesday morning and launched an investigation into his death.
Police have confirmed that the man was from Carlisle.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “We were called to the area shortly after 9.20am following the death of a man, believed to be in his forties.
“Officers have investigated and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
“A file is being prepared for the coroner.”
The spokesman added that the man has not yet been formally identified.
