Police are hunting for a man after his dog was described as "dangerously out of control" in a Carlisle public order incident.

Exact details of the incident have not yet been released, but a Cumbria Police spokesman confirmed that it took place on Tuesday in Heysham Park, near to Shadygrove Road in Raffles at about 6pm.

"Police are looking to identify the suspect who is described as a white man, approximately five foot eight inches tall," the spokesman added.

Describes as in his late twenties to early thirties, the spokesman added that he was wearing a green Armani jacket and blue jeans at the time of the incident.

"The man was walking a brown and white 'Staffie' type dog which was wearing a harness," the spokesman continued.
