POLICE are appealing for information following a crash in which a driver failed to stop.

Officers and paramedics were at the scene this afternoon at Red Lonning, next to the junction of Round Close Park in Whitehaven.

A Lexus RX, which left the road and another vehicle were involved.

A spokesman for Cumbria police said: "Police were called at approximately 1:40pm to the report of a two vehicle road traffic collision in the area of Round Close Park, Whitehaven.

"The driver of the Lexus, a 62-year-old man from Whitehaven, suffered minor injuries.

"The second vehicle failed to stop and enquires are ongoing."

Police would also like to appeal particularly to the DPD van in the area at the time of the incident that might have dashcam footage of the incident.
