Wedding destination firm Gretna Green Ltd has appointed three new directors to its management board.

The family-run firm, which operates the world famous Blacksmiths Shop and hotels on the site, says the development of the senior leadership team will help the company’s plans to strengthen its position as a leading international destination.

Gretna Green Ltd has been owned by the Houston family since 1886.

The appointments of Isabel Rhodes to commercial director, Darren Lloyd to hotels director and Joyce Bell to financial director, will lead planning and delivery of the strategic growth plans, customer service excellence and the development of new information and technology services and procedures, the firm said.

Alasdair Houston, chairman, said: “These three exceptional individuals have all been with me at Gretna Green for some time.

"They have complementary skill sets and fully deserve their progression which empowers this leadership team to drive the business with a clear commercial focus while reflecting the culture and values that are important to me in our family business. "My vision is that we continue our journey of brand elevation, making Gretna Green an exemplary world class destination built on our unique heritage of love and romance, offering great modern-day experiences to our customers as well as opportunities for our colleagues.”

Gretna Green is a multi-award-winning five star visitor attraction. The company has developed it to include a suite of wedding venues, a museum and retail outlets and hotels Smiths at Gretna Green, Gretna Hall and Greens at Gretna.
