A networking event is being planned to bring together Eden's accommodation operators.

Eden District Council's Tourism Team will hold its Eden Leaflet Swap and Networking Event on March 6 at Hutton in the Forest.

It will be held at Hutton in the Forest historic house between 1pm and 3pm and has been specifically designed to give accommodation operators the opportunity to meet a wide variety of Eden’s attractions and learn more about this year’s tourism offer within the Eden Valley, North Pennines and Ullswater area.

There will be the chance to meet representatives from around 18 Eden attractions including two of the region’s main literature distribution companies.

Attendees can also enter a special prize draw.

Between 1.30pm and 2.30pm people will be given the chance to look around some of the historic rooms of Hutton in the Forest which is the home of Lord and Lady Inglewood.

Sally Hemsley, joint tourism manager at Eden District Council, said: “We have actively responded to tourism operator requests for such an event to happen.

"Around 18 businesses are taking part and we look forward to welcoming accommodation providers and others connected with Eden’s vibrant tourism industry to this event. It offers a unique chance for people to meet tourism businesses face to face, discover new products and services plus look around one of Eden’s beautiful stately homes."

Pamela Davidson, house administrator at Hutton in the Forest, said: “This is a great opportunity for businesses to meet and work together. It means that accommodation providers will be able to give visitors first-hand knowledge of things to do and places to go within Eden."

The event is free to attend and light refreshments will be available.
