The story of folk rock legends Lindisfarne, from its beginnings in the pubs and clubs of Tyneside to huge success in the Seventies comes to the Theatre by the Lake later this month.

An affectionate and enthusiastic celebration of one of the UK’s most original and successful folk rock groups, it is written and performed by former frontman Billy Mitchell and founder member Ray Laidlaw.

The show at the Keswick theatre on March 31 takes the audience through 50 years of the Geordie group’s history to the present day.

The story is told through the group's classic songs such as Meet Me on the Corner, Lady Eleanor and Fog on the Tyne, along with rare and unseen video, audio clips and private photographs linked together with tall tales and gossip from and about the group.

Before that, another group of storymakers from the North East take to the stage.

On Tuesday, The Letter Room presents No Miracles Here, a foot-stomping and thought-provoking musical about overcoming depression through dancing, in association with the mental health charity Mind.
