Mashi Theatre is bringing a new family play to West Cumbria in March.
Stripey Honey ... is very yummy is aimed at families with children five-years-and-over and uses a combination of song, dance and puppetry, to tell the touching and funny story of how tigers, bees and honey collectors/local fisher-people learn to live and play together.
The play is set in the mangroves of the sundarbans - the land between India and Bangladesh.
When fisher-women search for honey, they keep a look out for roaming tigers. As they journey into the jungle and climb high into the trees to collect honey from the giant bees, what will happen when the tigers try to lend them a paw?
The new play began touring community venues and libraries in the North West and East Midlands on February 16, but is only stopping at two locations in Cumbria, Whitehaven Library on March 1 at 4pm and Kirkgate Arts Centre, Cockermouth on March 3 at 2pm.
For more information and to book tickets contact Whitehaven Library in person, or Kirkgate Arts Centre at www.kirkgatearts.org.uk or 01900 826448.
