A CARLISLE man has been sentenced for assaulting a woman and for using threatening or abusive words or behaviour.
Carl Swan, 26, of Sunnymeade, appeared before Carlisle's magistrates' court on Monday (FEB 11).
He pleaded guilty to both using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to another person, and also to assault by beating of a woman.
Both incidents took place on January 26.
For the threatening words or behaviour crime Swan was fined £153, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £30 and told to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Swan was fined a further £230 for the assault by beating.
