POLICE officers have confirmed they are investigating after a gang of youths threw eggs at a car.

The force was called to Castle Way in Carlisle on Saturday night.

A Cumbria Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called at about 5.30pm to the report of anti-social behaviour in the area of Castle way, Carlisle.

“The incident involved youths throwing eggs at a vehicle.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.”

Sergeant Lewis Powell issued a stern warning to those responsible: “This is an isolated incident which we take very seriously, this type of behaviour is putting people’s lives at risk.

“Throwing items at moving vehicles can be extremely dangerous to the persons in the vehicle and those around them.

“This can distract the driver and potentially cause a collision or damage their vehicle.”

Police say enquiries are ongoing but no one was hurt in this incident.
