A MAN who failed to comply with the requirements of his community order must complete more unpaid work.

Paul Holmes, 31, of Brighton Place, Canonbie, admitted the breach when he appeared at the magistrates' court in Carlisle on Friday.

The 12-month order, made on August 21 last year, required him to attended appointments with the probation service, two of which he missed on September 4 and 11 last year.

Defence lawyer Rachel Dixon explained that a factor of his non-compliance was that he had changed address.

Magistrates accepted the circumstances but said he was expected to comply. These imposed an additional 14 hours unpaid work, added to the existing requirement of 80.

He was also ordered to pay costs of £60.
