Firefighters in Carlisle have been dealing with a house fire in Sybil Street.
The fire was upstairs in an abandoned terraced home.
Police are investigating the cause.
The alarm was raised after smoke was seen coming from the roof of the property.
Crews from the Carlisle West and Carlisle East stations attended just after 12.30pm.
Firefighters using breathing equipment tackled the blaze.
They used a hose reel to fight the fire, which had not spread to the roof as initially feared.
There was some damage, but it was not extensive.
Crews were at the scene for about an hour.
