A female leader from the University of Cumbria has made the Northern Power Women 2019 Power List.

Jackie Arnold MBE, pro-vice chancellor for region and employer engagement at the University of Cumbria has won a place on the prestigious list.

The Power List recognises influencers who challenge the norm and ensure everyone recognises the benefits of gender-balanced organisations.

Launched in 2016, the annual list is compiled via open nomination and selection by a panel of judges.

Mrs Arnold said: “I am delighted to have been selected. In Cumbria and the North West region, I have met so many talented individuals driving the agenda for change and diversity.

“We are making huge progress but there remain challenges for us to transform the collective business representation landscape to reflect this diversity and, as a group, I’m confident that we will work tirelessly to continue the success to date.”

Prior to her university role, Jackie worked for BAE Systems Submarines. She is also vice chair of Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership and a member of the North West Business leadership team, a non-executive‎ director of the Cumberland Building Society.
