THE Met Office have warned up to 4cm of snow could bring travel disruption across Cumbria this afternoon.
A yellow warning - the lowest level to be issued by the forecaster - will be in force from 1pm until midnight today (Friday, January 18).
It states: "A band of rain, sleet and snow will move slowly eastwards across England and southern Scotland during Friday.
"There remains uncertainty in the extent of any snow, but there is the potential for 1-4cm of snow to accumulate on some higher level routes, chiefly above 250 metres."
Good morning! A sharp frost, with icy patches in eastern England, will be followed by a cold and bright day in the north & east. Cloud, rain and hill snow will spread from the west. Snow may briefly fall at low levels. Stay up-to-date here: https://t.co/lvmvtqQWBN ^Kayleigh pic.twitter.com/ChfBMSsRbQ
