A MAN has admitted an attack which left another man with "life threatening" injuries.
Paul Gunn, 34, of Thornfield Close, Cleator Moor, admitted unlawfully and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm on Graeme Clark in Whitehaven on August 14.
Cumbria police said the victim suffered "extremely serious" and "life threatening" injuries after being "punched to the face and falling to the ground" in Lowther Street.
He was transferred to Newcastle's RVI from the Cumberland Infirmary. Now out of hospital, Mr Clark is receiving treatment from a rehabilitation team, the court heard.
An update on his medical condition will be considered by Judge Peter Davies when he sentences Gunn on February 25. He was granted conditional bail until then.
