Strictly Come Dancing favourites Aljaž Škorjanec, Giovanni Pernice and Gorka Marquez will kick off their 38-date UK dance tour in Carlisle this summer.

Called Here Come The Boys, the evening will be based in a club setting with a live resident DJ will spin a cutting-edge soundtrack of dance-floor anthems, club classics and guilty pleasures whilst Aljaž, Giovanni and Gorka go head-to-head in a battle of Latin, ballroom, commercial and contemporary dance disciplines - with the audience judging the contest each night.

The show also includes live vocals from Elisabeth Troy who has sung with Clean Bandit.

Aljaž said: “Having worked on Strictly with Gorka and Giovanni for the past four years, I know we are going to deliver a truly incredible show for audiences all over the UK.

"While we might all be the best of friends, the show’s competitive element means there will be no love lost when we battle it out on the dance floor to win the audience vote. Serious bragging rights are at stake!”

A 19-time Slovenian champion in Ballroom, Latin and Ten Dance, Aljaž became an instant hit on his Strictly debut in 2013 when he partnered model and TV presenter Abbey Clancy to lift the coveted Glitterball Trophy.

"Having appeared in every series since, Aljaž and his partner, actress Gemma Atkinson, were runners-up in the 2017 final.

Before making his Strictly debut in 2016, Gorka represented Spain in the World Latin Championships in 2010, reaching the semi-finals of the 2012 WDSF World Cup and then, in 2014, touring the world in the hit dance show Burn The Floor.

He partnered the singer and actress Alexandra Burke all the way to the 2017 Strictly final, where, along with Aljaž and Gemma Atkinson, they finished as runners-up to Joe McFadden and Katya Jones.

Gorka said, "To be touring with Aljaž and Giovanni - not only two fantastic dancers but two of my best mates - is the icing on the cake. We look forward to seeing everybody on the dance-floor."

With four series of Strictly Come Dancing under his belt, Sicily-born Giovanni has made it to the finals with Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote, Debbie McGee and Steps singer Faye Tozer.

Giovanni is also the current Guinness World Record holder for Jive kicks and flicks, performing 55 in 30 seconds.

He said: “I am so excited to be starring with Aljaž and Gorka, two of the world’s greatest dancers. It really is a dream team scenario for all of us.

"I also know Aljaž and Gorka will really want to beat me, as they both secretly know I’m the best dancer. I can’t wait to be crowned champion every single night!”

Here Come The Boys is directed and choreographed by Gareth Walker and co-choreographed by Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Janette Manrara.

The show comes to The Sands Centre, Carlisle on June 15. For tickets, go to www.thesandscentre.co.uk or call 01228 633766
