PART of a main road in Carlisle will be shut for EIGHT days so repairs can be carried out.
Eastern Way - which links Warwick Road with London Road - will be shut from today.
A spokesman for Cumbria County Council said: "The road closure is for eight days in both directions.
"It is being carried out by Eric Wright as part of the Warwick Road improvement scheme."
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of Eastern Way, C1019, Durranhill Road and Warwick Road.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained.
